As Chief Public Defender of the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office, Mary Moriarty has taught attorneys, judges, investigators, and paralegals in every region of the country. She is a core faculty member of Gideon’s Promise, and the 2015 recipient of the Steven B. Bright Award. She serves on the faculty of public defender trial schools in Minnesota, Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin. She was a faculty member for the NACDL/Cardozo Forensic College in New York, as well as the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Workshop. She is a frequent contributor of webinars and blog posts for the National Association for Public Defense. Her NACDL presentation, “Tuning Your Ear to the Off-Key,” on prosecutorial misconduct, was featured in the April 2009 issue of The Champion.
