Julia Laskorunsky is the Research Director of the Robina Institute. She works on a number of projects related to criminal history enhancementsparole release and revocation, and community supervision practices. Her research examines the ways sentencing structures and correctional practices contribute to rates of incarceration, public safety, and racial/ethnic disparity. Julia has worked closely with criminal justice agencies across the U.S. to produce scholarship that informs efforts to lower rates of recidivism, identify high-risk offenders, and facilitate re-entry success.

Julia received her PhD in Criminology from Pennsylvania State University. Her dissertation focused on the use of actuarial risk assessments at sentencing and was funded by the National Institute of Justice Dissertation Fellowship. Her work can be seen in the Journal of Crime and Justice, Advancing Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy, and Oxford Handbooks Online.

Julia was formerly a Deputy Project Director and Research Assistant for Development Services Group, Inc., where she worked on multiple projects for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the National Institute of Justice.
