Rhys Hester is a Research Fellow at the Robina Institute. He teaches Criminal Procedure at the University of Minnesota Law School and holds a JD as well as a PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Hester’s primary research interests are in criminal sentencing and criminal procedure. His work has been published (or is forthcoming) in the leading criminology and criminal justice journals, including Criminology and Journal of Quantitative Criminology. Hester is currently involved in the Robina Institute’s Criminal History Project. He was formerly a professor in North Carolina where he coached Moot Court and taught Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, the Judicial Process, and the Constitution.
