Request for Proposals for Technical Assistance to Parole Boards
The application period for the Robina Institute's Parole Release and Revocation Project Request for Proposal (RFP) to Parole Boards and Releasing Authorities is now CLOSED.
This RFP was issued to provide technical assistance to 1 or 2 parole boards that might benefit from an in-depth examination of processes. The agency or agencies selected will not be required to fund the technical assistance. The Robina Institute will furnish the necessary financial and logistical support for one or more members of the parole project team to conduct on-site visits.
Recently, the Robina Institute published "The Continuing Leverage of Releasing Authorities: Findings from a National Survey," a report that summarizes the findings from a 2015 national survey of releasing authorities.
The Continuing Leverage of Releasing Authorities contains numerous findings relative to the structure and functioning of parole boards. One significant concern that emerged was that paroling authorities often have limited resources and constraints on their internal capacities to evaluate or understand the effectiveness of their release and revocation policies and practices.
The Parole Release and Revocation Project team is now reviewing applications and will notify the recipient before making a public announcement.
